Transparency & Reporting

This page provides a public record of the money received to support YHurt.com, how that money is used, what work has been completed, and what has changed.

It is being established before public fundraising begins so that reporting expectations are clear from the start.

What Will Be Reported

Once public fundraising begins, updates will include:

the reporting period;
total money received;
fundraising and payment-processing fees;
total money spent;
the purposes for which funds were used;
compensation paid to the founder, staff, or contractors;
professional, administrative, and operating expenses;
work completed during the period;
the project’s current priorities;
and any significant changes to plans, timelines, or expected costs.

Personal information about individual contributors will not be published without their permission.

Reporting Schedule

Financial and development updates will be published monthly, normally within the first week following the end of each month.

Additional updates may be posted when something significant changes.

If an update is delayed, the delay will be acknowledged here rather than leaving the reporting record silently incomplete.

How Financial Information Will Be Presented

Each monthly update will follow the same basic structure:

1. Period Covered

The dates included in the report.

2. Money Received

The total amount contributed during the reporting period.

Where useful, contributions may be grouped into general categories without identifying individual contributors.

3. Fees and Money Spent

The report will identify:

fundraising-platform and payment-processing fees;
website and technology expenses;
writing, editing, design, and production expenses;
legal, accounting, insurance, and governance expenses;
staff or contractor compensation;
founder compensation;
outreach or communications expenses;
and other project-related costs.

Financial totals will be reported in Canadian dollars unless otherwise stated.

4. Work Completed

A plain-language account of what was completed during the reporting period.

5. Current Work

What is actively being developed, reviewed, or prepared next.

6. Changes, Delays, or Setbacks

If priorities, costs, timelines, or plans change, the change and its known reason will be stated.

Not every decision will work as intended.

Transparency includes reporting setbacks, corrections, and unfinished work—not merely accomplishments.

What Transparency Means Here

Transparency does not mean publishing private contributor information, confidential legal material, personal banking information, or information that could compromise another person’s safety or privacy.

It does mean providing enough information for supporters to understand:

how much support was received;
where the money went;
what the support made possible;
what remains unfinished;
and whether the project is acting consistently with what it has said.

Organizational and Contribution Information

YHurt.com is a project of Beyond Hurting Inc.

Beyond Hurting Inc. is not a registered charity. Financial contributions do not qualify for charitable tax receipts.

Contributions are received by Beyond Hurting Inc. and used to develop, operate, and expand YHurt.com in accordance with the reporting commitments described on this page.

Contributions support the continuing development of the project and are not payments for a specific product, service, or guaranteed outcome.
