YHurt.com is being built as a freely accessible public resource for people trying to understand themselves, the people around them, and what happens between us.
Much of the foundation now exists.
The work ahead is to complete it, strengthen it, test whether people can genuinely use it, and continue developing the practical tools that can grow from it.
Support provides the time, stability, and working capacity required to do that responsibly.
Keeping the central material freely available does not make it free to create or maintain.
The work requires ongoing research, writing, editing, site development, technical maintenance, visual and video production, administrative support, professional consultation, and careful review of what is being offered publicly.
It also requires enough stability for the work to continue without being driven by advertising, paywalls, attention-capturing tactics, or pressure to release material before it is ready.
Voluntary support helps make that possible.
Support at this stage helps us:
At present, much of the research, writing, organization, and development is being carried by the founder.
Early support therefore funds both direct project expenses and the time and stability required to continue the work.
That is not separate from the project.
At this stage, it is one of the conditions that allows the project to continue.
Funding may be used for:
Priorities may change as the project develops, but the commitment to responsible use and transparent reporting will remain.
YHurt.com is being developed in stages. Each stage has different financial requirements, and the larger projects will depend on the resources, expertise, partnerships, and safeguards needed to carry them out responsibly.
The following figures describe the current funding goals and longer-term plans. They are not funds already secured, and future stages will proceed only when they can be supported responsibly.
The first goal is to establish the financial stability required to continue developing YHurt.com as a freely accessible public resource.
Funding would support the founder's dedicated project-development work, essential operating expenses, research and content development, technology and software, website maintenance, and appropriate professional and administrative support.
This initial funding would provide working capacity while the project strengthens its existing foundation, improves its resources, and develops the next stage of practical tools.
Following the initial C$100,000 operating runway, the next funding goal is to secure a further period of working capacity and fund the professional services and development work required to strengthen YHurt.com.
The current planning budget is C$275,000, allocated provisionally as follows:
These amounts are preliminary planning allowances and may be adjusted as professional advice, quotations, and development requirements become clearer. The contingency is a reserve, not a commitment to spend the full amount.
The purpose of this stage is to give the project the time, professional support, and practical capacity to move from its existing foundation toward more developed, tested, and accessible resources.
The Re-Homing project is intended to create a sustainable business that addresses several connected needs: employment, neighbourhood renewal, more affordable housing, and long-term funding for Beyond Hurting Inc.
Funding would support project planning, feasibility work, partnerships, suitable housing options, and the practical arrangements required for implementation.
The initial model centres on relocating and installing ready-to-move homes (RTMs) on existing foundations. By returning suitable properties to productive use, the project aims to improve neighbourhoods, support property values, create more accessible housing options, and establish meaningful employment.
The intention is to build a capable, locally grounded operation with four two-person construction teams, supported by the additional staff and administration required to operate responsibly.
Building a sustainable source of revenue
Re-Homing is being developed as a revenue-generating enterprise, not simply as a project that depends on donations to continue.
Under the proposed model, 30% of after-tax profits would be distributed directly to Beyond Hurting Inc. This would create a potential recurring source of funding for the wider work, while the business remains responsible for its own operations and financial sustainability.
These are business targets, not guaranteed results. Actual performance will depend on project costs, demand, available properties and foundations, staffing, financing, and the ability to deliver homes reliably and safely.
Building toward a wider impact
The longer-term plan is to use the experience, operating capacity, and revenue developed through Re-Homing to explore expansion into Canada's ten major centres.
If the model proves successful and can be replicated responsibly, future opportunities may include developing apartment buildings focused on more affordable housing and increasing the contribution made to Beyond Hurting Inc.
Over time, these revenue streams could help support larger initiatives, including outreach, reducing the extent to which the wider mission depends entirely on ongoing public fundraising.
The intended outcome: creating a viable business that produces practical community benefits, creates employment, expands access to housing, and helps fund a wider public mission.
The project will proceed according to feasibility, responsible financial management, and demonstrated capacity—not projections alone.
A further long-term goal is to develop and implement outreach initiatives that extend the project's practical work beyond the website.
The scale and form of this work will depend on identified needs, partnerships, staffing, professional expertise, safeguards, and sustainable operating resources. Funding would be allocated only as specific initiatives become sufficiently developed to proceed responsibly.
These goals represent a longer-term funding direction, not a promise that every stage will be funded or implemented. Priorities, budgets, and timelines may change as the work develops and actual costs become clearer.
The intention is to communicate the purpose of funding honestly, account for project expenditure, and report on progress as the project develops. Reasonable compensation for the work required to build and operate YHurt.com is part of that picture and will not be treated as separate from the project's development.
YHurt.com is not currently offering charitable tax receipts for contributions. Support is voluntary, and no contribution is required to access the central material.
The purpose of funding is not expansion for its own sake.
The project will grow only when there is enough capacity to support what is being added.
That means:
If resources increase, development can move forward more quickly.
If resources are limited, the work will continue at a pace that can be sustained responsibly.

There is no expectation that every form of support must look the same.
What matters is that any relationship supporting this work remains transparent, responsible, and consistent with its purpose.
You do not owe this project financial support because you visited the site or found something useful here.
The central material is intended to remain freely accessible.
If you believe this work should continue, and you are in a position to help make that possible, your support will provide something very real:
